Brain Tumor Center
The NYU Langone Department of Neurosurgery has a long-standing reputation for being a national and international leader in the surgical treatment of patients with brain tumors and skull base tumors, and our neurosurgeons are known for their ability to handle the most complex cases, including skull base lesions and tumors in eloquent brain areas. We utilize the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art technologies, including frameless stereotactic systems, advanced functional mapping and neuro-navigation techniques, equipment for transnasal and transventricular endoscopic approaches, and the Gamma Knife® system for stereotactic radiosurgery. In addition, we offer a number of clinical trials that our patients can enroll in, and our neurosurgical laboratories are actively researching brain tumor and stem cell biology. Because management of brain and skull base tumors requires the coordinated effort of a range of specialists, our neurosurgeons also team up with members of other departments at NYU Langone, including Neuro-anesthesiology, Neuro-oncology, Radiation Oncology, Neuroradiology, Neuropathology, Endocrinology, Otolaryngology and Neuro-ophthalmology, to provide comprehensive care for our patients.
