Spine and Peripheral Nerve Center

The Spine and Peripheral Nerve Center at NYU Langone Medical Center has a national and international reputation as a leader in the surgical treatment of disorders of the spine, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. Our neurosurgeons utilize the most advanced techniques to evaluate and treat the entire spectrum of spinal and peripheral nerve disease processes, employing both traditional and minimally-invasive surgical options. As one of the foremost centers in New York and the U.S. in the use of minimally-invasive and endoscopic surgical treatments for spinal disorders, we have helped pioneer minimally-invasive procedures for the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. These approaches allow for smaller, cosmetically pleasing incisions with minimal tissue damage, resulting in a shorter recovery and faster return to the activities of daily living for our patients.

At our center, degenerative disorders, trauma, tumors, and vascular diseases of the spine and peripheral nerves are addressed through a team approach, in which our world-renowned spinal and peripheral nerve surgeons work together with radiation therapists, endovascular neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and rehabilitation specialists to offer the best care to our patients. To enhance accuracy and safety, our surgical teams utilize state-of-the-art spinal navigation, 3-D fluoroscopy, and intra-operative CT-scan technologies during all spinal procedures. Safety is further enhanced during spinal operations by our intra-operative monitoring team, which carefully monitors each patient’s motor, somato-sensory and EMG activity.
